Races

Just discovered Bxybee parkrun was no more and this extremely close parkrun had launched to replace it, so wanted to check it out before the move to the East Coast. Deliberately took it at an easy pace.

Had a couple of months off due to persistent right calf injury, so this was a comeback race of sorts to see if it would hold up under a bit of stress. It was fine but lack of fitness and lack of desire to push myself too hard meant it was comfortable but still a reasonable finish position.

Had done a recent block of training and wanted to see how fit I was in terms of 5K time. Felt strong but brutal wind down the back straight made life harder than expected so pleased to come under 20 minutes regardless.

Second time on this course, but this time in foul weather. In the top 3 coldest races I've ever done but it was the best way to start the year with friends and family.
